ESI is currently working with a number of clients on a wide variety of projects:
- Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation – AREDF received an EDA grant to identify ways to facilitate new technology based entrepreneurship in Cochise County. ESI was retained to prepare a countywide technological asset map, solicit stakeholder input, and conduct meetings to discuss collaboration and service delivery.
- South Tucson Brownfields Market Analysis – As a sub consultant to Terracon, ESI is preparing a real estate market demand analysis to assist with brownfield planning.
- City of Tucson General Plan Update – As a sub consultant to The Planning Center, ESI is modeling several growth scenarios to help guide the update of the City’s General Land Use Plan.
- Mesa Transit Oriented Development Market Analysis – The City of Mesa, in partnership with Valley Metro and the City of Tempe is in the initial stages of planning to extend streetcar operations into west Mesa. ESI will be conducting a market analysis on the study area and preparing station assessments to screen for high capacity transit readiness and development potential.
- City of Buckeye – on call retainer to prepare fiscal and economic impact analysis on a broad array of economic development projects, including Jackrabbit Crossing, Village Grove, Five Below, Funko, Verrado Marketplace and a resort hotel.
- Economic and Fiscal Impact Analysis for a mixed use development by Vestar.
- Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona Economic Development Plan
- San Tan Valley Study, Arizona State Land Market Comparison Report
- Maricopa County General Plan Update – Sub consultant to Michael Baker International to prepare an analysis of the regional economy and identify opportunities and constraints relative to economic development.

Business Development Finance Corporation has become Arizona Capital Source (ACS), a private nonprofit SBA lender. ESI Principal Judie Scalise serves on the Board of Directors.
